For those of you who are stymied by the concept of eating store bought chocolate due to health or weight issues, have I got a sweet answer for you! Raw Cacao. It’s the purest form of chocolate. No wax, no fillers. It’s rich in sulfur and magnesium. It’s so chock full of goodness, that it’s actually considered one of our planet’s super foods. The flavor of Raw Cacao is similar to dark, bitter chocolate. It can be sweetened with agave or honey.

When consumed, it allows more serotonin and neurotransmitters to circulate in the brain causing us to feel better and energized. Anandamide, known as The Bliss Chemical, released when we are feeling great, has been isolated in cacao. Fresh cacao beans are super-rich in antioxidant flavonols.

Compare raw cacao to processed cocoa powder (defatted, roasted cacao treated with

 

potassium carbonate) mixed with dairy products, and raw cacao wins hands down. Studies indicate that dairy products specifically block the absorption of all the great antioxidants in chocolate.

Additionally, raw cacao is known to diminish appetite, aid in weight loss, increase sensuality and beauty, nourish intellect, attract prosperity and even help to heal and open hearts. You see, phenyl ethylamine is found in cacao. It is an adrenaline related chemical which is released when we are in love.
